You hidden in my heart - Chapter 46.2

Chapter 46.2
The two little ones had been crying just now. They were only coaxed into silence a few minutes before Li Xining came back. There were still tears on their round little faces, and their big black eyes still revealed a hint of fear and uneasiness. It was obvious that they were frightened by the wolfdog.
Li Xining hated Zhao Cichu but was also heartbroken for her nephew and niece. Suddenly, she remembered that she had brought them a large bag of snacks when she came, so she immediately said to them, “Aunt brought you some delicious food, lots of delicious food!”
When the two children heard that there were snacks to eat, they immediately became full of energy. They looked at their aunt in surprise and excitement and shouted in unison in their clear little voices. “Really?”
Li Xining: “Do you see that pink schoolbag on the sofa? It’s full of snacks.” As she said that, she put Tiantian on the ground.
Seeing this, Lu Yuling also put Zhuangzhuang on the ground.
The little kids raced towards the sofa as soon as they got down. With the thought of eating delicious snacks, the fear of the dog vanished.
As Zhuangzhuang was a few months older than Tiantian, his steps were more steady, and he ran to the sofa before the little girl.
He immediately pulled over his aunt’s schoolbag with his chubby little hands, grabbed the zipper, and opened the bag directly.
The schoolbag was filled with all kinds of snacks.
“Wow!”
Li Xining was amused by them. She worried that the two kids would argue over the distribution of snacks, so she also walked towards the sofa. “Zhuangzhuang, pour out all the snacks onto the sofa, and Auntie will share them between you two.”
Lu Yuling did not follow her but sat on the sofa opposite.
Zhuangzhuang listened to his aunt very much. After his aunt gave the order, he immediately turned the schoolbag upside down and shook it hard a few times.
The snacks in the bag fell onto the sofa, making both kids happier.
“Oh! Wow! Wow! Eh!” While Tiantian jumped excitedly and kept exclaiming happily, she saw something among the snacks.
There were two stuffed bunnies in the pile of colourful snacks, one pink and one white.
The little girl immediately stretched out her hands to pick the two bunnies out of the snacks, then held a bunny in each hand and looked at her aunt in surprise. “Aunt, are these bunnies for me and Zhuangzhuang?”
Li Xining had been hiding the pair of rabbits in her schoolbag, but she forgot to take them out when she was packing snacks yesterday. Unexpectedly, Zhuangzhuang and Tiantian discovered them.
Li Xining was stunned, and she could not think what to do. She subconsciously looked at Lu Yuling, with a guilty look and a bit of cowardice.
She was lying to him for several months. According to this man’s princess-like temper, he would probably be angry.
As soon as he saw the rabbit he searched for months for, Lu Yuling jumped up from the sofa and hurried towards Tiantian as if he had discovered some rare treasure.
In order to overwhelm Princess Lu, Li Xining decided to take the initiative. Besides, Lu Yuling was wrong in the first place. Who told him to throw the rabbit away first? He must learn a lesson! So she said to Tiantian calmly, “Yes, it’s for you and Zhuangzhuang.”
“Then I want the pink one!” Tiantian exclaimed. Her eyes curled with laughter, and a row of brilliant white teeth was visible.
Pink was a favourite colour among young girls.
“The white rabbit is for Zhuangzhuang.” Without pausing to glance at Lu Yuling, Li Xining said.
Before saying a word, Lu Yuling’s rabbit had given to others, but he certainly couldn’t let Li Xining do what she wanted.
‘You gave away the tokens of love to another one in front of me. Am I a dead person?’
But how could he snatch it from a little kid? With a thought in his mind, he walked to Tiantian and smiled at the little girl first. “Tiantian, can you let your uncle see the pair of rabbits?”
‘Uncle?’ Li Xining blushed and glared at Lu Yuling angrily. “You are really…” She wanted to scold him for being shameless, but she couldn’t scold him in front of the children; otherwise, it would be a bad example for them.
Lu Yuling knew what the girl wanted to say, but he pretended not to know. “Really smart?”
Li Xining: “…”
Tiantian didn’t understand what was happening because she was young. When Lu Yuling told him to call him “uncle,” the little girl believed that she was his uncle. Moreover, children should listen to their elders, and uncles were elders, so she also had to listen to them. So she immediately handed the rabbit to her uncle. “Here you go.”
“Thank you,” Lu Yuling said as he took the rabbits. Then he examined the pair of rabbits carefully as if he was seeing them for the first time.
The two rabbits remained as clean as when they were first bought. There was not even any stain on the pink bunny he had tossed in the garbage can. There was even a slight scent on it. It was clear that Li Xining had cleaned it.
The only difference from before was that there were a few more fine pink lines on the top of the pink rabbit’s head. It could be seen that this place was once torn open by brute force and then sewn up with needle and thread. However, it seemed the person who sewed the rabbit was not very good at needlework, and the stitches were crooked.
Lu Yuling could imagine Li Xining sitting by the lamp and stitching the rabbit after she got home after seeing these jagged pink stitches.
She sneaked out of the bed, clumsily sewing the rabbit while angrily scolding him for being an annoyance.
Thinking of this, Lu Yuling smiled.
Li Xining’s face reddened even more when she assumed he was mocking her shoddy stitching. “It’s not your rabbit; why are you staring at it?” She exclaimed angrily as she grabbed the rabbit out of his grasp out of embarrassment and anger. Then she pretended to give the bunny back to Tiantian.
Lu Yuling quickly held the girl’s hand, preventing her from giving the rabbit to Tiantian.
After removing the pink bunny from her grasp, he showed it to Tiantian. “Look, Tiantian, this rabbit had surgery on its head, and the stitches are removed.”
“Oh, it’s real!” Tiantian’s eyes widened as she looked more closely.
Realising what he intended to do, Li Xining gave Lu Yuling a fierce look, saying, “What a jerk; he only knows how to trick kids!”
Pretending not to hear, Lu Yuling persuaded the child. “It just had surgery and needs adult care; otherwise, the wound will not heal.”
Fearing that the little rabbit would not recover, Tiantian was extremely concerned. “What should I do then?”
“How about this? I’ll take care of this pink rabbit for you first and then return it to you when its injury is healed, okay?” Lu Yuling stated to little Tiantian after holding his thoughts for two seconds.
Tiantian believed what her uncle had said. “Okay!”
“Where is the white rabbit?” Zhuangzhuang asked. After listening to everything just now, he had considered that the white rabbit was his.
“The white rabbit is the pink rabbit’s wife, and they cannot be separated,” Lu Yuling went on to lie. “I will give it back to you after the pink bunny gets well.”
This caused Li Xining’s face to flush even more. Meanwhile, she sensed Lu Yuling was growing increasingly brazen. Once more, she gave him a hard gaze. “Who is your wife?”
Lu Yuling gave her an unabashed smile, parted his lips softly, and spoke inaudibly, “You.”
Children were very innocent and kind. And Zhuangzhuang did not doubt his uncle’s words at all and nodded. “Okay!”
After the rabbit problem was solved, Lu Yuling put them into his pocket. Then he stretched out his hands and touched the heads of the two little guys one by one and said sincerely, “You two are both good children. Your uncle will never treat you badly in the future.”
The two little kids gazed at their uncle in shock, unable to understand what this meant.
Lu Yuling smiled and said, “You two can share the snacks, one for each of you; no one can take more. Fairness and justice are the keys to being a good child.” He didn’t elaborate too much.
Zhuangzhuang and Tiantian nodded and exclaimed, “Okay!”
Have a nice day!
