You hidden in my heart - Chapter 46.3

Chapter 46.3
Lu Yuling reached out and took Li Xining’s sleeve while the two kids were exchanging snacks. He then lifted his chin in the direction of the room’s north side.
There were three rooms in the west wing, connected by a door in the middle. They were now in the middle room.
Although Li Xining understood Lu Yuling’s intentions, she simply shook off her hand in defiance of his wishes. She didn’t even pout, but she made a really forceful rejection.
Lu Yuling continued, shaking her and murmuring coquettishly, “Please, just five minutes!” as he yanked her sleeve once again.
“No!” Li Xining insisted.
Lu Yuling had no choice but to use the hard-to-appease warning again. “I will be angry. The kind that is hard to appease!”
Li Xining squinted at him and muttered in a serious voice, “Lu Yuling, do you still have the right to be angry with me now?”
Seeing that she was not moved by any persuasion, Lu Yuling sighed and had to grab her hand and lead her towards the north room.
When Lu Yuling became overbearing, Li Xining really couldn’t resist and couldn’t break free from his hand, so she had to follow him unwillingly.
The room in the north was empty.
“Let’s make peace.” Lu Yuling asked Li Xining as soon as he walked into the room.
“I won’t make peace with you!” she declared stubbornly because Li Xining didn’t want Lu Yuling to feel too proud.
Lu Yuling had no choice but to take the rabbit out of his pocket and continue to coax the girl. “Didn’t you say that we’ll make peace once we find the rabbit? I’ve found it now.”
Li Xining: “It wasn’t you who found it; it was Tiantian who found it.”
Lu Yuling: “Anyway, the rabbit is in my hands now; you can’t deny it.”
“Who denied it?” Li Xining stared at him, getting angrier and angrier. “Who told you to throw the rabbit away?”
“I know I am wrong; I sincerely admit my mistake to you. I will never dare to do it again!” As he said that, Lu Yuling stretched out his hand to hug the girl.
“You hooligan, don’t touch me!”
He wouldn’t be Lu Yuling if he gave up in this way, so he took her hand and led her to the north room, displaying his tyrannical nature once more. Without hesitation, he wrapped his arm around her waist and embraced her. “Stop making trouble.”
With this action, Li Xining got scared. She pushed him twice but failed. She was embarrassed, angry, and afraid that someone would suddenly rush into the room and catch them. She was so anxious. “Lu Yuling, let me go!”
“Didn’t you hug me just a few minutes ago?” Lu Yuling smiled in response to the refusal.
“That… that…!” Li Xining kicked the boy’s feet nervously. Her face had turned bright red at the moment.
Lu Yuling persisted in making fun of Li Xining, saying, “Want to make amends? I’ll let you go if you reconcile with me.”
Li Xining was forced to give in to the oppressive authority. “Make peace! Please, make peace. Leave me alone!”
Then only Lu Yuling released her.
Li Xining glared at him angrily and turned to leave, but Lu Yuling grabbed her wrist and pulled her to his side again. “Didn’t we make peace? You’re still ignoring me after making peace?” the boy asked with raised eyebrows.
Li Xining was so furious that she couldn’t speak. “Hate it!”
Lu Yuling still held her wrist. “Hurry up. Talk to me properly, and I’ll let you go after you’re done.”
Li Xining: “You are so shameless!”
Lu Yuling smiled and replied, “You just realised that I have no shame?”
Li Xining: ‘This scoundrel!’
Realising she would get really angry if he continued teasing her like this, Lu Yuling let go of her hand. He put away his nonchalant look and gazed at her with gentleness. “I will never throw rabbits again, lose my temper with you again, be mean to you, or make you sad again. Not in this life; otherwise, I will be mute.”
Since he loved music and his voice was the greatest gift his mother had given him, Li Xining knew he cared about it. Additionally, she was aware of his desire to pursue a career in singing; otherwise, he would not have intended to perform at a pub as a resident vocalist, nor would he have planned to apply for the music department in college.
The fact that he could swear on something like “becoming mute,” which was equivalent to destroying everything for him, showed that he was making a promise to her sincerely.
Li Xining agreed to make amends and nodded slightly, no longer feeling furious with him.
With a sigh of relief, Lu Yuling released her hand, but he embraced her once again a moment later.
“Lu Yuling, you are a liar!” Li Xining yelled in rage.
“Aren’t we reconciled?” Lu Yuling asserted. “Even after we’ve made amends, you won’t let me give you a hug? Then you’re lying to me, right?”
“Who is lying?” Li Xining asked disbelievingly.
“…” Lu Yuling chuckled once again and negotiated, saying, “Just give me a quick hug.”
Ignoring him, Li Xining simply gave up and let him embrace her.
Lu Yuling questioned abruptly, “Are we considered to be in a premature relationship now?”
“Are you in the top 100 in your grade?” Li Xining asked bluntly.
Lu Yuling couldn’t answer that.
Li Xining said angrily, “So, the answer is no!”
“I’ve held your hand and hugged you, but that’s not enough?” Lu Yuling continued to behave coquettishly.
Li Xining said firmly, “It doesn’t count! It just doesn’t count!”
Lu Yuling let out a sigh before reconsidering. ‘Since we haven’t shared a kiss yet, it doesn’t count. Until we kiss, it won’t matter.’ After a few seconds, he asked again, “Is it true that I can kiss you when I get into the top 100?”
Upon hearing this, Li Xining’s face became like a ripened tomato, and she couldn’t speak for a moment. “Let’s talk about it when you are in the top 100…” she said through her messy breath.
Her voice was very small, like the hum of a mosquito, but Lu Yuling still heard it clearly. “Okay, you wait. When I get into the top 100 in the grade, the first thing I will do is push you against the wall and kiss you.”
Li Xining couldn’t stand it any longer. “Lu Yuling, you are shameless!”
Lu Yuling retorted. “Why am I shameless again? If I were really shameless, I would push you against the wall and kiss you right now.”
Li Xining was unable to talk and was afraid that he would actually push her against the wall.
Lu Yuling laughed as he glanced down at the person he was holding and asked, “Are you afraid? If you are afraid, be honest in the future.”
Li Xining gave a disbelieving pout. She finally said, “Lu Yuling, are you free tomorrow?” in a quiet voice.
On the banks of the Xifu River, there was a lantern show every night from the first to the fifteenth day of the Lunar New Year. She still couldn’t go there. The school was starting the day after tomorrow, so she had only tomorrow.
She wished to accompany Lu Yuling there.
However, Lu Yuling’s scalp instinctively clenched when he heard her ask, “Are you free tomorrow?”
‘Will I get a haircut or make-up lessons?’
There was a pause before he carefully asked, “Do you want to give me extra classes?”
‘Why should I give you extra lessons during the New Year?’ With a hopeless sigh, she said, “No.”
‘Then surely she wants to take me to get a haircut.’ Thinking that Lu Yuling firmly responded, “Even if I have the time, I can’t cut my hair in the first month of the year; therefore, I won’t cut it. My uncle treats me pretty well.”
[Tl:- Cutting hair is a taboo during the New Year days in China, as it says if someone cut his/her hair during New Year, it would harm their uncles.]
Li Xining: ‘Forget it. There’s no need to watch the light show with a fool. He won’t understand it anyway.’
Li Xining clenched her jaw, shoved Lu Yuling out of her way, gave him a savage stare, and turned away.
Lu Yuling rushed after her, unsure of how he had insulted her once more.
Returning to the west room, Li Xining contacted Xu Dongruo in front of Lu Yuling. “Hello Dongruo, are you free tomorrow?”
It was a familiar question that perplexed Lu Yuling. ‘What on earth was she going to do tomorrow?’
In response, Xu Dongruo said, “Yes.”
“Then let’s go to the Xifu River to see the lantern show tomorrow night,” replied Li Xining right away.
Lu Yuling couldn’t understand—’What the devil?’
In response, Xu Dongruo said, “Is it really that romantic? What’s the harm in asking your little princess out?”
Li Xining looked at Lu Yuling and said to the cell phone, “I asked if he was free tomorrow, and he first said he wouldn’t have extra classes, and then he said he didn’t want a haircut because getting a haircut in the first month of the year would kill my uncle, and he didn’t even give me a chance to finish my words.”
“Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha, he must be a fool,” exclaimed Xu Dongruo.
“So I don’t want to date him anymore,” Li Xining stated.”A fool can’t understand the light show.”
Hearing this, Lu Yuling understood that he had dug his own grave. “It’s okay, I’m free!” he said into her phone after grabbing it. Then he ended the call.
Li Xining stared at him.
“How do I know that you are not playing by the rules?” Lu Yuling asked, feeling quite resentful.
“Because you are a fool!” said Li Xining.
Unable to help, Lu Yuling said, “If you want to date me, just tell me directly; don’t beat around the bush.”
Li Xining was annoyed. “Who wants to date you? I won’t date you anymore!”
Lu Yuling replied, “Then I’ll make an appointment with you at six o’clock tomorrow night, by the Xifu River. See you there.”
Li Xining: “I’m not going.”
Lu Yuling: “If you don’t go, I won’t leave. I will wait for you until dawn until the water in the Xifu River dries up until the sky collapses and the earth collapses!”
Li Xining: ‘It’s just a date. Why are you acting in a Qiong Yao drama with me?
