Lu Yuling realised that normal methods would not be effective when he saw her in this state. “No other woman in this world is worthy of my attention, except for you and my mother,” he answered simply after giving it some thought.

 Li Xining suddenly wanted to laugh, but she held it back.

 “Alas, when I was a child, Uncle Li told me that beautiful women are not easy to coax, and it’s true.”

 ‘You dare to bring up my dad to suppress me?’ Li Xining stared at him and asked, “What?”

Lu Yuling: “My wife is really beautiful! It’s normal that it is hard to please her.”

Li Xining rolled her eyes at him and asked, “Who is your wife?”

Lu Yuling: “You.”

Li Xining: “Let’s talk about it after you get into the top 100 in the grade. If you can’t get in, you can handle it yourself!”

 What she meant was, ‘If you can’t get into the top 100, you can figure out how to make me your wife.’ 

 However, Lu Yuling understood this as, ‘If you can’t get in, forget about me being your wife.’ So he immediately got nervous. “Li Xining, our previous agreement was that if I could get into the top 100 in our grade, you would date me, and if I could get into the same university as you, you would be my wife. These are two agreements…you can’t mix them up.”

 When Li Xining heard this, she knew that Lu Yuling had misunderstood her words, but she was too embarrassed to tell him directly, “You must confess to me after the college entrance examination.” She felt angry and aggrieved and finally replied, “Forget it; you are just a fool who knows nothing!”

After returning home, Li Xining angrily sent a WeChat message to Xu Dongruo: [If that idiot doesn’t come to confess his love to me after the college entrance examination, I will apply to Dongfu University!]

 Xu Dongruo replied, [Wow, Dongfu is so far away.]

 Li Xining: [Shouldn’t you comfort me at this time?]

 Xu Dongruo then sent a voice message. “I have already comforted you when we were having dinner. How else do you want me to comfort you? You are just thinking too much now. Stop imagining nonsense. Let’s wait until the college entrance examination is over. Maybe that idiot will come to his senses after the college entrance examination.”

 Li Xining felt that it might not be realistic to expect Lu Yuling to come to his senses on his own, but at this point, it seemed like she had no choice but to wait until after the college entrance examination.

 The third mock exam was held in early May, and it was also the last major exam before the college entrance examination. After the third mock exam, the school would not organise any more exams. Therefore, the third mock exam was Lu Yuling’s last chance.

 For a whole month, Lu Yuling had been frantically doing practice questions.

 Efficiency was a key important point when it came to learning. Some people would remember ten questions out of a hundred, while some could remember ten out of ten. There was a difference in IQ between people, and smart people who have good brains would remember everything they see.

 But whether the person was smart or not, diligence was the king.

 Lu Yuling was the kind of person who was smart, efficient, and hardworking. While doing a large number of questions, he could also take into account correcting mistakes and drawing inferences from one example to another. Therefore, he would never make the same mistake twice.

 The results of the second mock exam could actually reflect the final college entrance examination results. Even if someone could improve their result after that exam, it would not be much. 

 Everyone thought that even if Lu Yuling practiced a lot of questions, it would be impossible for him to make much progress. However, when the results of the third mock exam came out, everyone was dumbfounded. He scored 101, just one place away from the top 100 in the grade.

 No one knew whether to sympathise with or praise him for being awesome.

 When Li Xining saw the results, her first reaction was, ‘It’s over; Lu Yuling is going to explode!’

 However, when she hurriedly ran to find Lu Yuling, he was not in the class. When she asked her classmates where he had gone, she learned that Lu Yuling had been called to the office by the class teacher five minutes ago.

Being at the 101st palace, Lu Yuling was actually discouraged. He was only two points away from being in the top 100 in his grade; therefore, he went mentally down. 

 At that moment, Lu Yuling even had the urge to push Li Xining against the wall and kiss her. However, just as he was planning how to commit a crime, Lao Zhou came and called him to the office.

 Teacher Zhou also knew about the puppy love agreement between Lu Yuling and Li Xining. He was not blind. He had seen Lu Yuling’s efforts and progress in the past six months. Moreover, teachers were also human beings, and they had also gone through adolescence. Of course, they understood that it was inevitable for children at this stage to fall in love. What they opposed was not early love, but early love that led to mutual depravity. They would definitely not oppose a situation like Lu Yuling and Li Xining, who encouraged each other to make progress.

 Graduation was approaching, and Lu Yuling no longer hid the secret from Lao Zhou. Besides, they had been dealing with each other for more than two years, so there was nothing wrong with telling the truth. So he answered very truthfully. “After the college entrance examination is over, how can we have puppy love?”

“Look at what you said. Are you studying for puppy love? You study for yourself!” After all, Lao Zhou was the class teacher, so he still had to express his attitude. After expressing his attitude, he replied truthfully, “Your idea is wrong. Can’t you fall in love early after the college entrance examination? Who said that early love must be before the college entrance examination?”

 Lu Yuling: “If you say so, according to the rules, early love is before the age of eighteen, and I’m almost nineteen.”

 Lao Zhou knew that he was starting to get stuck in a rut, so he continued to enlighten him. “Your mindset is wrong. Puppy love cannot be counted by age but by the stage of life. Any relationship before you go to college can be called puppy love.”

As long as you are not admitted to a university, you are still a high school student, so the college entrance examination is your last chance to get into the top 100 in your grade. You must cherish this opportunity! Try to get into the top 100 in your grade in one fell swoop! When the time comes, you can take the transcript and go find a girlfriend in style. How great it will be!”

 Lu Yuling was suddenly amused by Lao Zhou. During his three years of high school, although his class was divided once, his homeroom teacher had always been Lao Zhou. It was not until today that he discovered that Lao Zhou was quite lovable.

 It was almost time for graduation when he finally realised how lovable Lao Zhou was. To be honest, he had been such a jerk before, and Lao Zhou had done his best to tolerate him for so long.

 After hesitating for a while, Lu Yuling suddenly bent down and bowed to Lao Zhou. When he stood up, he smiled and said to Lao Zhou, “Thank you, Teacher Zhou. It’s been three years. I really troubled you.”

 Old Zhou really didn’t expect that Lu Yuling, this naughty kid, would suddenly do this to him. His eyes suddenly became hot, and he quickly waved at him. “Go ahead, go ahead. You should have worked hard in the last month. A stable performance in the college entrance examination is more important than anything else.”

 Lu Yuling promised solemnly. “Okay, just wait; I will definitely give you more quotas for key universities.”

Before Lu Yuling left the office, the teacher suddenly said to the boy, “Don’t forget me when you become successful in the future.”

 Lu Yuling replied with a smile, “Don’t worry, I won’t forget it!”
