‘What did he mean by those words?‘ Li Xining was confused.

Half an hour later, she received a WeChat message.

It was a hot summer day, but the basement was as cold and dark as if the air conditioner was on.

Before Li Xining could react to what he meant, she was cornered by him the next second. Then, she heard him say in a light tone, “Li Xining, I heard that you are going to go to Dongfu University with Chen Lin?”

His tone sounded calm, but between the lines, it was hard to conceal the jealousy and overbearing possessiveness.

As Li Xining’s eyes were adjusted to the dim light in the darkness, she saw the look in Lu Yuling’s eyes.

“Then, are you willing to be my girlfriend?” Lu Yuling asked, smiling.

His tone was serious and kind, but there was a hint of anxiety that was impossible to hide.

He had rehearsed this sentence in his mind countless times.

She was his light, his desire.

A “yes” from her would fulfill the fantasy he had been waiting for for years.

Instead of answering him right away, Li Xining just stared at him.

She had imagined multiple times how she would feel upon hearing these words.

Should it bring her to tears?

Would she be unable to shut her mouth from laughter?

Would her excitement prevent her from speaking?

“Kiss you.”

He then pressed her up against the wall and planted a kiss on her.

The kiss was really intense.

Ever since Li Xining gave Lu Yuling a candy in that cold stairwell years ago, he wanted to do this.

For years, he had been patient.

He would have committed a crime long ago if he hadn’t stopped himself.

As he imagined, her lips were plump and soft like cherries, with a touch of sweetness.

The sound of fast breathing was the only sound in the silent basement.

He didn’t release her until he had extracted all the sweetness from the cherries.

Li Xining felt like she was struck by lightning. Her lips were sore and numb.

Satisfied, Lu Yuling lifted the corners of his lips.

She didn’t think her first kiss would be like this. It was not romantic at all, and it happened in a place like the basement!

Li Xining became even angrier. “What are you so proud of? What do you have to be proud of?”

“My girlfriend is so gorgeous; can’t I be proud of her?” Lu Yuling stated with assurance. “Can’t I be proud that my girlfriend is more attractive than nine out of ten ladies I see on the street?”

“What about the remaining one?” Li Xining asked, maintaining a straight expression as she looked at him.

‘Alas, I said the wrong thing.’ Lu Yuling blamed himself. “The remaining one is you!” he shouted.

Despite her satisfaction, Li Xining chastised him fiercely, saying, “You are just a troublemaker!”

Lu Yuling gently nudged her while cradling her in his arms, saying, “All right, I’m a troublemaker! A big troublemaker!”

Li Xining: “I hate you!”

Lu Yuling smiled and replied, “But I like you, especially that kind of thing. What should I do?”

Silently, Li Xining said, “That’s your business; it has nothing to do with me.”

Lu Yuling: “You’re now my girlfriend.”

‘Showing off, tsk!‘ Li Xining ignored him and snuggled in his arms for a while, then asked with doubt, “Lu Yuling, does my new hairstyle really look good?”

“It looks good, especially good-looking!” Lu Yuling said without blinking, acknowledging that a girlfriend deserves appreciation.

“Really?” Li Xining asked, grinning and looking up at him.

“Really!” answered Lu Yuling firmly.

After some hesitation, Li Xining made the decision to tell him straight out. “I will be the host tomorrow.”

Surprised, Lu Yuling exclaimed, “Have you seen the program list?”

“No,” answered Li Xining, shaking her head, “the person in charge of the ceremony said it can only be released in the evening.”

Lu Yuling: “Oh.”

Li Xining felt that Lu Yuling was a bit unhappy.

“Do you have a show?” Li Xining asked him expectantly after making a guess. “This time, what song will you sing?”

Avoiding eye contact, Lu Yuling said, “I won’t tell you.”

Li Xining: “Anyway, I’ll know after the program comes out.”

At first, he intended to surprise her, but it appeared that the surprise might be revealed beforehand.
