She was wearing a light blue strapless long dress covered with misty tulle with sequins hanging on it. Under the spotlight, it shone brightly like dazzling stars.

Her skin tone really matched the colour of the dress. Moreover, her newly permed hair emphasised her beauty more.

All the boys, who were just enchanted by Han Qiaowei’s beauty, couldn’t believe their eyes. 

Even the girls were stunned.

It was not an exaggeration to say that she was a fairy descending to earth.

Suddenly, someone in the audience started to shout, “Xining Goddess”. At first, only two or three people did that, but within a few seconds, everyone started to shout along, including many girls who were obsessed with Li Xining’s noble temperament and beauty.

Han Qiaowei was still on the stage, but no one noticed her anymore. The main character became a side character just in a few minutes. 

When the boys saw Han Qiaowei, most of them had lustful thoughts about her, but when they saw Li Xining, they admired her with respect. 

This made Han Qiaowei very angry. She was boiling inside with jealousy, and she turned around and glared at Li Xining fiercely.

Among the shouts of “Xining Goddess”, a bold girl shouted at the top of her lungs, saying, “Marry me, Xining Goddess!”

A moment later, someone yelled Lu Yuling’s name, and those individuals ceased yelling “Xining Goddess” and began yelling “Lu Yuling” as though they had already discussed it. 

The couple and Li Xining’s mother came to their precious girl’s graduation ceremony. At this time, the family of three was sitting in the auditorium where parents were supposed to sit. Zhao Hailan and the old couple of the Zhao family also sat next to the Li family.

Old Master Li had been very happy because his granddaughter was beautiful and everyone was calling her “goddess”. He felt proud and instantly felt that he was a head taller than the old man surnamed Zhao, who was sitting next to him. But when the kids started to call out Lu Yuling’s name, his face turned grey. 

“What nonsense!” He snorted coldly and scolded the students angrily.

However, upon hearing that, Old Master Zhao’s mood brightened. Whether the girl from the Li family was called a “goddess” or his precious grandson was pulled out to be paired with the girl from the Li family, he was happy. 

But when he heard the angry words of Old Master Li, his mood went slightly down. “Don’t worry about it!” he said with an unhappy expression. 

Old Mr. Li just couldn’t stand the way Old Man Zhao took advantage of his granddaughter, but he was too lazy to pay attention to him. He snorted in dissatisfaction and then turned his gaze to his daughter-in-law. “Wenyin, have you seen Yuling? Why can’t I find him? Give him a call and ask where he is now.”

When he was instructing his daughter-in-law, he especially emphasised that they have Lu Yuling’s phone number. 

Of course, Old Mr. Zhao caught the meaning behind Old Mr. Li’s words. He snorted in anger and unwillingness.

Yu Wenyin felt like laughing as she grasped her father-in-law’s intentions. ‘You become more and more like a child at your age, making calculations about everything.’ 

Then she called Lu Yuling. 

Although Lu Yuling arrived at school earlier, he didn’t go to the gymnasium. Instead, he sat alone in the stands next to the playground, practicing the piece he would perform on stage later.

This was the song he composed for her for the first time in his life, so he didn’t want anyone to hear it before she could hear it. 

Lu Rongxing specially postponed some of his work today to attend his nephew’s graduation ceremony, but Lu Yuling did not allow him to meet him before the ceremony started.

It was just past 7:30 a.m. when Lu Yuling received Yu Wenyin’s call, and there was still more than an hour before the ceremony was to begin.

When Lu Yuling saw the caller ID, he was a little confused. With a doubt, he pressed the answer button.

Lu Yuling answered Yu Wenyin’s questions truthfully. 

Yu Wenyin didn’t ask him why he didn’t attend the rehearsal but only reminded him not to be late for the performance. She hung up the phone after he replied, “OK”.

Seeing Yu Wenyin end the call, Mr. Zhao quickly asked, “Where is Yu Ling? The rehearsal has already started.”

Mrs. Zhao also looked anxious. “That’s right, why hasn’t the child come yet?”

Yu Wenyin was amused by the Zhao family’s eagerness to protect their own blood. ‘Do I think the Zhao family is annoying? It is indeed annoying, but I have to admit that they are really good to their descendants.’

Zhao Cichu’s mother had no status or background, but she could enter the Zhao family because of her child. 

Although they favoured boys over girls, they spoiled Zhao Cichu like a treasure for many years because she had Zhao’s family blood. 

Moreover, although the old couple urged Zhao Hailan to remarry after Zhao Cichu’s mother died, when she was alive, the old couple never despised her humble background, nor did they encourage their son to divorce and remarry a person in the same social class.

It was because of that evil woman, who played some dirty tricks, and that scumbag Zhao Hailan. Perhaps the father-in-law told them about Lu Yuling’s life story. That may be the reason the old couple of the Zhao family is willing to do everything for their offspring. Even they came to his graduation ceremony.’

Thinking about how concerned the old couple was towards Lu Yuling, Yu Wenyin’s aversion to the old couple of the Zhao family decreased a little. “He is on the playground, and he won’t come to the rehearsal,” she replied with a smile. 

Mr. Zhao immediately asked, “What is he doing on the playground?”

Yu Wenyin shook her head and replied, “I don’t know. The child didn’t say, and I didn’t ask. But Xining said he has a show today, so he should be practicing on his own.”

“Oh, our Yuling is going to perform a show? What is it?” Mr. Zhao’s eyes lit up as he heard his grandson was going to perform on the stage today.

‘Our Yu Ling? Mr. Zhao used this word very intimately.’ Yu Wenyin was a little helpless but replied patiently, “I heard it was a guitar solo.”

Mr. Zhao immediately praised his grandson. “Not bad, not bad, and he can also play the guitar. That’s amazing!”

Mr. Li snorted coldly and said mockingly, “Oh, the old man is selling melons.”

Hailan… Hailan?” He turned around and found that his son was nowhere to be seen. So he quickly asked his wife, “Where is Hailan?”

Mrs. Zhao replied, “He went to the playground.”

Mr. Zhao was puzzled. “When did he go? How come I don’t know?”
