Chapter 51.4

The playground was right next to the gymnasium. 

After Zhao Hailan came out of the gymnasium, he walked west for a while and arrived at the east gate of the playground. As soon as he entered the playground, he saw Lu Rongxing, walking like an old man on the ground. 

Lu Rongxing’s nephew didn’t let him meet him, so he could only pass the time by himself.

Lu Rongxing was taken aback when he first saw Zhao Hailan. The two families had some dispute on Mr. Li’s birthday, but the Zhao family was not something to mess with. Therefore, Lu Rongxing did not pursue that matter anymore. Moreover, they were all in the capital circle, and they might cooperate one day.

It was good to give them some face to meet each other in the future.

So Lu Rongxing’s attitude towards Zhao Hailan was not cold. Instead, he greeted him with a smile. “Hey, Mr. Zhao. What a coincidence! You are here to attend your child’s graduation ceremony as well?”

Zhao Hailan nodded and walked to Lu Rongxing’s side. “By the way, it’s also to see if there are any good seedlings.”

The word “by the way” indirectly answered Lu Rongxing’s question—yes, the child graduated today.

Lu Rongxing didn’t doubt what Zhao Hailan said, and since he had nothing to do, he started chatting with him as they took a walk. “Which class is your child in?”

Zhao Hailan asked calmly without answering him. “What about yours?”

Zhao Hailan smiled and said, “Little boys are all naughty.”

Zhao Hailan quickly explained. “Oh, it’s a relative’s child. The child’s mother is gone, so I came to his graduation ceremony.”

Lu Rongxing felt sad for the unknown motherless boy remembering his Lu Yuling. “Children without mothers are like grass.” He sighed after saying those words.

Lu Rongxing’s unintentional words were like a sharp knife that stabbed directly into Zhao Hailan’s heart. He calmed down for a long time before suppressing the pain. Then he took a deep breath and asked calmly, “I heard your nephew likes music very much. Has he ever thought about making a debut?”

Zhao Hailan’s words made Lu Rongxing a little surprised. He knew that Xiao Lu loved singing and had the same dream of becoming a singer as his mother.

Lu Rongxing would help his nephew if the latter wanted to enter the entertainment industry in the future. But he also knew that his ability to help the boy was not as powerful as Zhao Hailan’s, an insider in the entertainment industry. As they were talking, the two walked to the bottom of the stands and saw Lu Yuling was still there playing the guitar.

The two men were not close enough to Lu Yuling to hear what the latter was playing.

Zhao Hailan asked Lu Rongxing, “What is he going to perform today?”

Lu Rongxing shrugged and replied, “I don’t know. He won’t let me get close.”

A few minutes before nine o’clock, Lu Yuling came down from the stands. Then only did he see the two men near him.

He knew his uncle was not familiar with Zhao Hailan, so he had some doubts after seeing them together. ‘This combination is really strange.’

In the past six months, he saw Zhao Halian at the school gate every now and then.

Zhao Hailan thought Lu Rongxing would be angry and was about to remind Lu Yuling to be nicer to his uncle.

However, Lu Rongxing was not angry at all. Instead, he replied in an even more arrogant manner than Lu Yuling, “Okay, Xiao Lu, you’re done. You’re dead. In two hours, the little girl of the Li family will know that you wet the bed at the age of seven.”

Lu Yuling: “…”

Lu Rongxing said arrogantly, “Call me uncle!”

Lu Yuling: “Uncle!”

Lu Rongxing: “With respect.”

Lu Yuling: “Dear uncle!”

Lu Rongxing: “This is what a good child is like. I hope you can continue to maintain this attitude in the future; otherwise, you will bear the consequences at your own risk.”

Lu Yuling was extremely well-behaved now. “Okay, my most beloved uncle!”
