You hidden in my heart - Chapter 54.1

Chapter 54.1
Lu Yuling denied getting sick after being caught in the rain, but Li Xining wasn’t fooled. It was obvious to her that he was under the weather. As soon as she stepped outside, she headed to a pharmacy to grab some cold medicine for him.
Right next to the pharmacy was a chain supermarket. After picking up the medicine, she paused for a moment but ultimately decided to go in and buy some slippers, a toothbrush, facial cleanser, and towels.
Since Lu Yuling was sick, it was not wise to leave him alone. If he were still burning up later, she’d take him to the hospital. Moreover, no one was at her home, so it would not be a problem for her to stay with Lu Yuling.
Next, she found a porridge shop and got two portions of porridge along with a couple of side dishes before heading back home.
When she arrived, Lu Yuling was still slumped on the sofa, with his face flushed and pale, looking completely drained of energy.
When Lu Yuling heard the door creak open, he mustered his courage and rose from the sofa as if there were nothing wrong with him. “You’re back… cough cough cough…” he managed to say, but before he could finish, a fit of coughing took over.
Upon hearing the coughing sounds Li Xining rushed to the living room after quickly wearing home slippers. Dropping her stuff on the dining table, she hurried over to Lu Yuling, grabbed his arm, and, without a word, pulled him toward the bedroom. “Stop pretending; just lie down!” Her voice was full of anger.
Princess Lu tried to maintain his facade, insisting, “I’m really fine!” He even attempted to yank his arm away to prove his point but quickly realised he was too weak to resist Li Xining. With no strength left, he had no choice but to follow him to the bedroom.
Li Xining, dragging Lu Yuling straight to the big bed in the centre of the room, firmly commanded, “Get on the bed!”
Lu Yuling: ‘… F*ck, so domineering?’
Realising that Lu Yuling didn’t obey her words, Li Xining became impatient and urged him, “I told you to get on the bed! Hurry up and lie down!”
‘Whatever. I’m not feeling great today; I’ll handle you later.’ With a sigh, Lu Yuling kicked off his slippers and climbed onto the bed.
The moment he settled in, Li Xining draped a quilt over him, while grumbling, “It’s pouring outside; only an idiot wouldn’t use an umbrella.”
‘This nagging girl has really turned into a little wife.’ Lu Yuling thought, chuckling at her.
Li Xining shot him a glare and exclaimed, “What’s so funny? How dare you laugh! Even kids know to grab an umbrella before heading out!”
“Can’t I smile? I’m sick, you know.” Taking advantage of her concern, Princess Lu decided to play the spoiled card. “Can’t you be a bit nicer to me? I’m your darling!”
Li Xining: “…”
Even though Lu Yuling had already crossed the line, he still didn’t want to face any punishment or scolding. He suddenly felt the perks of being unwell and started to play the weak card again. “Hey, don’t look at me like that! It’s scary; I’m sick, and I’m really vulnerable right now.”
Li Xining’s level of tolerance had come to the maximum point, and she was tempted to unleash some domestic violence. However, the sick look on the boy’s face made her hold back her anger.
‘Just breathe.
Stay calm.
It’ll pass.’
Taking a deep breath, she turned to leave.
“Where are you going?” Lu Yuling hurriedly grabbed Li Xining’s wrist.
Li Xining shot back, “To boil water!” She yanked her hand away and walked away.
As soon as she stepped out of the bedroom, Lu Yuling chuckled. Even though he felt weak all over, he couldn’t help but laugh until his stomach hurt—‘It was so satisfying to mess with my wife, and being sick has its perks.’
Li Xining headed to the kitchen first, boiled some water, then went back to the living room. After opening the porridge container, she poured it into a bowl, heated it up in the microwave, and took it to the bedroom.
She remembered that sick people should stick to light meals, so she got him plain porridge.
There was a grey sofa on the left side of the bed and a study table on the right. Li Xining placed the bowl on the study table and then took Lu Yuling’s arm, saying, “Come on, get up and eat.”
‘Did she really think I’m a kid?’ Lu Yuling chuckled and said, “I’m not that fragile yet.” He gently pushed her hand away and sat up.
At first, Lu Yuling planned to eat on his own, but as soon as he propped himself up, Li Xining adjusted the pillow behind him, clearly intending to… feed him.
‘Hehe… Well, the little tigress was finally showing some gentleness and thoughtfulness.’ He couldn’t just ignore her, so he decided to ditch the idea of eating by himself and leaned back against the pillow.
Li Xining didn’t catch on to Lu Yuling’s little act and genuinely thought he was too weak, so she settled next to the bed, grabbed the bowl, and started feeding him porridge, one spoonful at a time.
Have a nice day!
