Chapter 57.4

A week passed like this, and Li Xining couldn’t bear it anymore. She was ready to throw herself into his arms on Friday night, but her period suddenly came.

At that time she felt particularly guilty because she had been flirting with him all day, completely getting him aroused. However, who could predict such a thing would happen?

Lu Yuling stayed in the bathroom for a long time before coming out. 

With a guilty heart, she comforted Lu Yuling saying she would definitely make him satisfied after her period was over. However, her period was not over yet, and her mother came back early.

Her mother called Li Xining right before getting on the plane, which saved Li Xining from a whole lot of hassle. To keep her secret under wraps, she even asked Teacher Zhou for a half-day off to pack her stuff. After stuffing everything into her bag, she rushed home.

That night, as she snuggled in bed and called Lu Yuling, she made another promise. “Next Saturday, I’m all yours! You can do whatever you want with me!” 

The following day, the admission results were out, and both she and Lu Yuling got into their top choice, along with Xu Dongruo.

Originally, she planned to celebrate their college entrance exam success with Lu Yuling on the third day. But her mom had other ideas and took her on a trip to visit her grandparents, planning to hang out in that city for a few days.

Once they arrived at the tourist city, she sneaked into the hotel suite and called Lu Yuling again, promising, “Just wait for me to come back! I’ll make it up to you!” 

After exploring that city, her mother took her and her grandparents to Dongfu Resort, where they intended to chill for two weeks to beat the summer heat.

On the day they got to Dongfu, she called Lu Yuling again, but before she could make any big promises, Lu Yuling sighed and said, “Li Xining, please don’t promise me anything anymore. I just can’t believe you right now.”

Li Xining felt pretty bad about breaking her promise three times in a row, but she couldn’t help feeling a bit helpless. “Sometimes we have to change the plans, you know?”  

Lu Yuling shot back, “So stop messing with me!”  

Li Xining promised, coaxing the little princess. “Just wait for me to get back. I’ll definitely come to meet you first!”  

But when she finally returned, it was already August 23rd, and the new student orientation at Xifu University was the next day.  

Freshmen had military training, so classes started a week earlier.  

Military training kicked off on the afternoon of August 25th.  

They hadn’t seen each other for a month and a half, and their first encounter after her return was on the school playground.

To win over Lu Yuling, Li Xining brought him a bottle of Baisuishan, a fancy water, before the gathering. When she approached him with the bottle, he looked shocked and said, “Oh wow, what a coincidence! You’re at Xifu too?”  

Li Xining was left speechless.  

From his reaction, it was clear that winning him over this time wouldn’t be easy, but she had to try since she was the one who messed up. After all, she had stood him up for a month and a half, so she needed to make things right.

In front of a bunch of music department students, Li Xining held up the fancy water bottle like a fangirl, saying sweetly, “The water I got for you is from Baisui Mountain. Only the elite deserve this.” 

Lu Yuling waved his hands with a serious look, saying, “No way, I can’t take that. There’s a difference between guys and girls. Please have some self-respect.” 

Li Xining was left speechless.

Then, Lu Yuling took a step back and added, “Don’t get too close; people might get the wrong idea.” 

Li Xining clenched her teeth. “Fine, I’ll just drink it myself!” With that, she turned and walked away.

When she got back to the crowd at the Academy of Fine Arts, Xu Dongruo noticed the water bottle and asked, “Oh, you didn’t give it away.” 

Li Xining sighed. “He is full of himself.” 

Xu Dongruo asked, “Did you get on his nerves again?” 

Li Xining wasn’t sure how to explain it to Xu Dongruo. Whether she provoked him or not was beside the point; the real issue was that this guy was probably losing it.

And the worst part? She had to keep it together for another ten days until military training was over.  

‘I can only imagine he’ll stay just as arrogant and hard to deal with during that time.

Ugh, that’s gonna be tough.’
