After everything was settled,  Li Xining gave Teacher Zhou a reply the next day.

Teacher Zhou recommended Li Xining to leave during her junior year, so she could begin applying to schools in her sophomore year’s first semester and get ready for the IELTS test in her freshman year.

After that, Li Xining enrolled in an IELTS training course and specifically arranged her classes for Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday evenings. She wanted to keep Monday, Wednesday, and Friday free to watch Lu Yuling play basketball, but after a few weeks, she felt it was a waste of time...

Before she talked about studying abroad with Lu Yuling, she often felt guilty towards him and was especially worried that he might fall for another girl. During that time, she was quite attached to him, viewing him through a thick filter that made him seem like the most perfect guy in the world.

However, once Lu Yuling openly expressed his support for her plans to go abroad, her perspective shifted to a more normal one, and the fangirl filter gradually faded away until it was completely gone.

‘What perfect guy? He’s still that annoying dude!’

So she stopped being so clingy to him, and her behaviour slowly returned to normal.

At first, she would watch him play basketball every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday; then she cut it down to just Wednesday and Friday. When the weather turned colder, the players started outdoor winter training. She thought it was too chilly to wait outside for him, so she reduced her visits to just Fridays again.

If it weren’t for the fact that she had to go home with him on Friday, she wouldn’t even want to go on Friday.

On Wednesday, Lu Yuling was wrapping up after training when he noticed that all his teammates’ girlfriends were there, wearing some odd makeup. His own girlfriend was missing, so he turned to the guy next to him and asked, “What day is it today?”

The guy replied, “It’s Halloween.”

Lu Yuling was puzzled. “Why are you all bringing your girlfriends for Halloween?”

“It’s a holiday now, time to go out on a date,” the buddy asked back. “Where’s your girlfriend?”

Feeling a bit embarrassed, Lu Yuling didn’t want to admit he hadn’t asked her out, so he said, “Oh. She has class.”

The guy’s girlfriend chimed in, “No, I just saw Xining. She was riding an electric bike to take her friend to the movies.”

Lu Yuling: ‘…… Man, you are so cold-hearted! How can I let you go abroad without worrying about you?’

Since he wasn’t asked out on Halloween, Princess Lu got pretty upset that night. No matter whether she called or sent a WeChat message, his responses were always. “Ignore me, I’m mad and hard to please.”

This time, it was really tough to make him happy again.

Li Xining spent a whole week trying to cheer Lu Yuling up before she finally managed to calm the little princess down, which even cost her an extra Saturday night that week – the next morning, she could barely get out of bed.

After that, Li Xining learned her lesson. 

Except for the Qingming Festival and Ghost Festival, she made sure to schedule dates with the little princess on time.

The first holiday after Halloween was Christmas on December 25th. She sent a date invitation to the little princess a week ahead of time.

The little princess played hard to get for several days, and it wasn’t until Christmas Eve that he finally agreed.

Christmas fell on a Wednesday, and Li Xining decided to visit the little princess around noon. She even took her shiny red electric motorcycle because the little princess had shown her displeasure a few days earlier, saying, “You let Xu Dongruo ride your electric motorcycle every day, but I never get a turn!”

While waiting for Lu Yuling to finish his class, Li Xining spotted a vibrant poster on the bulletin board.

In the middle of the poster were some golden words.  “Sounds that please the ears.” 

Upon closer inspection, she realized it was a registration poster for a big music talent show being held by Xifu Satellite TV and Zhengxing Entertainment.

The registration started on the first of last month, and the deadline was the 31st of this month.

‘Today is already the 25th; only a few days left.’

Just as Li Xining was engrossed in the poster, a pair of hands suddenly covered her eyes. 

“Guess who I am?” a playful voice asked.

Li Xining knew the little princess too well. If she simply said, “Lu Yuling,” it would definitely be the wrong answer. He would surely scold her for not paying attention. So she confidently replied, “My husband!”

Lu Yuling smirked, letting go of his hands, but replied with a hint of pride, “Don’t think you have won; I’m still not on good terms with you.”

Li Xining: ‘… I really underestimated you.’

She looked at him with a smirk, then pointed at the poster in front of her and asked, “Do you know about this show?”
