Before he decided to go to Zhengxing, Lu Yuling reached out to his uncle the following day. His uncles had previously stated that Lu Yuling should consult him before signing for any company. So that his uncle’s professional legal team could help prevent any losses during contract negotiations.

When Lu Rongxing found out that his nephew was planning to sign with Zhengxing, he was taken aback. “Why would he choose Zhengxing?”

Lu Yuling: “Wang He has visited me several times.”

“And you were convinced by that?” Lu Rongxing clearly didn’t buy it, knowing his nephew too well. “Are you really the type to be swayed just because someone drops by a few times? I’ve tried so hard to get you to study diligently, but you never listened to me!”

Lu Yuling: “My wife wants me to sign.”

‘No wonder… Only the girl from the Li family has any influence over him. In this world, she is the only one who could get him to obey.’

Finally, Lu Rongxing accepted that his nephew genuinely wanted to sign with Zhengxing and sighed. “You’re being played by that girl from the Li family. If she ever betrays you, you might even help her count the cash with a smile.”

Lu Yuling replied confidently, “That won’t happen!”

Lu Rongxing: “Yeah, you’re not worth that much anyway.”

Lu Yuling: “…”

After a moment of thought, Lu Rongxing asked again, “Are you really sure about signing with Zhengxing?”

Lu Yuling: “Absolutely.”

Lu Rongxing: “Then I’ll get in touch with Zhao Hailan.”

Lu Yuling: “Alright.”

After talking with his nephew, Lu Rongxing reached out to Zhao Hailan to inform him that Lu Yuling was ready to sign the contract. 

Zhao Hailan was over the moon, and he didn’t waste any time and sent the contract over so quickly that it felt like he had been waiting for this moment forever.

The contract was for five years, which was pretty standard in the industry.

Lu Rongxing took a look at the contract himself first and thought it seemed almost too good to be true. Lu Yuling, party B would have maximum benefits, freedom, and protection. Doubting his own interpretation, he forwarded the electronic version to the legal department of the group, asking them to examine it closely for any hidden pitfalls.

The legal department took a whole day to scrutinise every word and finally got back to Lu Rongxing confirming there were no traps.

Lu Rongxing still found the contract to be quite extraordinary, but he trusted his legal team. So finally, he let Lu Yuling go ahead and sign it.

The day the contract was signed happened to be another Friday, coinciding with the second game of the rematch, an internal group competition.

Both Zhao Hailan and Wang He were present at the event that day.

Lu Yuling moved forward in the competition without any issues.

After the recording, Wang He went backstage to find Lu Yuling and asked him for the company’s copy of the contract. Once Lu Yuling handed it over, Wang He read through it carefully and confirmed everything was in order. He smiled, showing a hint of fatigue and life experience. “Kid, looking forward to a great partnership.”

“Teacher Wang, it’s a pleasure to collaborate with you,” our boy replied respectfully. 

Wang He let out a sigh, saying, “It’s pretty unusual for you to call me Teacher Wang.” He then continued, “Boss Zhao wanted me to check if you’re free tonight. He’d like to take you out for dinner.”

Now that the contract was signed, Lu Yuling couldn’t be as open about his annoyance with Zhao Hailan as he used to be, but he genuinely had plans today. “Let’s reschedule it. I’m heading to my girlfriend’s place for dinner tonight.”

Wang He didn’t push him. “Alright, let’s do it another time.”

After leaving the TV station, Lu Yuling drove Li Xining back to her home. 

When Mr. Li found out that Lu Yuling had signed the contract, he specifically invited him over for dinner, saying he wanted to celebrate.

The recording for today’s programme started and ended early. When they got home, the housekeeping aunt was still busy cooking. Since they had some free time, Li Xining took Lu Yuling to the study, pulled out an old photo album, and shared some family photos with him.
